I Can Make History 2013 is a contest encouraging cultural & community pride.

Help Kroger celebrate Black History Month with our annual "I Can Make History" contest. Kroger will award more than $67,000 in prizes in four categories - art, essay, music and poetry. All entries must be received by 5 p.m., Thursday, February 28, 2013. Winners will be invited to an awards luncheon held Saturday, April 13, 2013.
Conducted by Kroger's Michigan Division, the contest is open to 4th through 12th grade students, within the Kroger Michigan Division, currently enrolled in a Michigan School
Thank you for helping Kroger celebrate Black History month and the many African Americans who have significantly contibuted to our country in the past and the countless others who are working to better our communities today.
Enter your art, essay, music or poetry and you could win a scholarship, laptop computer or family field trip.

Art Guidelines
Artwork entries must be original drawings, paintings, paper collages, and/or photographs highlighting one of the contest themes.

Essay Guidelines
Essay entries must be at least 500 words in length, the student's own work and should highlight one of the contest themes.

Music Guidelines
Music entries must be an original work and a minimum of one minute (not exceeding four minutes). All entries should highlight one of the contest themes.

Poetry Guidelines
Poetry entries must be the student's original work and no longer than 30 lines in length. All entries should highlight one of the contest themes.
